Win A 2010 Polaris at 2010 SNOWARAMA FOR EASTER SEALS KIDS CROSSES BORDERS!
Thunder Bay, ON, January, 2010— Grab your helmet and gear because the coolest snowmobile event hits the trails on Saturday, February 20th to kickoff the 2010 fundraising season for Easter Seals Kids.
Once again, Thunder Bay’s Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids will head south of the border for a charity snowmobiling event sponsored by Grand Portage Lodge and Casino, the Grand Portage Trail Riders, and the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids attracts snowmobilers from across northwestern Ontario and Minnesota to Grand Portage, a mere 45 minutes from Thunder Bay, to enjoy some of the finest groomed trails in northern Minnesota. As in past years, all proceeds will help
support children and youth with physical disabilities in the Thunder Bay area. All Snowarama participants will receive a complimentary spaghetti supper and Saturday night dance with a live band.
Snowarama is truly a family event. Everyone can enjoy the trails, the heated pool and sauna as well as all the other amenities at Grand Portage Lodge & Casino. Minnesota trail permits are $16.00 (available at Ryden’s 66) and will be required for those riders that venture off
the Grand Portage Reserve trails.
Rhonda Harrison of Easter Seals states about 25 % of our budget we raise for the year is from the Snowarama event. “ We help 178 children in NW Ontario with our funds. “Frank Vecchio, Marketing Manager Grand Portage. “ This year we have decided to purchase a 2010 Pol aris IQ 550 Shift. One of the Snowarama participants can win. The minimum pledge is $100 and for every additional $77 pledged the participant will get one ballot fro
a chance to win the sled. The odds are pretty good. The more pledges you get the better your odds are. We will give the 2010 Polaris Shift 550 IQ away on February 20th, 2010 the day of the event. We hope to get more riders from 100 to 150 or perhaps 200 with this incentive.
Tony Swedi of the Grand Portage Trail Riders stated the 100 miles of trail system have a 16 inch snow base currently. " We will have a local ride as well as one longer to Devil Track Lodge and back. The trails are groomed now and I would like to invite everyone out to
enjoy our trails."
Jacqeline Lauchie is the mother of Zackary, age 6, who is this years ambassador. Easter Seals does amazing work. "They empower families to help their kids. Easter Seals help us with lifts for the van and bath for example as well as providing help for them to attend
camps each year. They help offer independence empowering children to be the best they can be."
