Elias Ishoel wins Amsoil Dominator Race!

by Scott A. Sumner

Elias Ishoel, age 18, is  from Norway and began racing when he was 11 at home. This is his third year in the US and first year in Pro Open class. He started snowmobiling at age 2 or 3 and last year  was in high school and finished.

“My first time at Duluth two years ago and I won the race in Pro Lite. Last year I won the Duluth first  race as well  but then broke my ankle the next day,”said Elias. “ Last night was my first race in Pro Open and I won.Previously I also raced at  X Games on the Pro Open sled.”

“The Pro Open sled is bigger than last year with more power. It is a harder class but I hope to be up there. My strategy is to ride my snowmobile as much as can  and practice a lot.”

What did Elias think of the Duluth race track this year?
“I like the track. The snow is watery and hardpacking  but it was good. They did a good job making the track.”

Elias will be in the US all season with his parents. They will live in Hill City home of Warnert Racing with Quadna Mountain Park.

" This is a dream for me. America is good. In the summer I will race dirt
bike back in Norway.”
