ISOC Race Technical Staff Are Watching Your Sled
by Scott A. Sumner
When you race in the ISOC series you have to be prepared for a tech inspection. “ In the first round of all heats we bring in all the sleds so we know each sled has the same parts at the end of the weekend. It is an indent on the sheet metal of the aluminum and will stay on there.
If they finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd at the end of the weekend and it doesn't have the stamp we look at the motor and know something has been changed,” stated John Vanduynhoven, Teck Director for Minnesota Regional Racing. “ We also measure the ski stance. There is a 44 inch centre to centre maximum width that they have to maintain to run on the track. Some of the guys are changing their toe in toe out so we have make sure they keep in the boundary's. We don’t like to disqualify people but have been known to do that. We will ask them to bring in the sled.”
