JC Hupe Place 2nd in Pro Women's at West Yellowstone
by Scott A. Sumner

It was nice to hear from Lana Hupe that her daughter JC is doing so well in WPSA Snocross.
“ Just got in from a weekend in West Yellowstone.....................racing snocross. JC did very well placing 2nd in the final of the Pro Women's Class. A lot of driving (25 hrs. each direction) beautiful scenery but yucky road conditions from the start of Montana to West Yellowstone.I've attached a couple of pictures, one racing the other with JC on a snowbank there. Huge amounts of snow. Probably 8ft+.
Talk with you later,Lana Hupe

As a snocross enthusiast myself I know the amount of commitment it takes to be a success in the sport, especially as an independent team from Thunder Bay, Ontario. Lana told me their expenditure on diesel fuel for the truck used to haul the huge trailer was $950 for this trip alone! After seeing JC compete in Duluth last fall I knew she could win a Pro Women’s Super Stock National title given the financial resources her competitors have. She does have an excellent sled to ride this year
the 2008 Arctic Cat Sno Pro 600 which is a good start. Perhaps next year some more sponsors will step up to provide the team with the money to compete in the full WPSA circuit.
